During the 360 Design Budapest exhibition, organised for the second time this year, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency pays particular attention to Hungary’s presidency of the V4 countries. At the exhibition, Hungarian product designers present Central-Europe’s design industry’s diversity and their fascinating products together with Czech, Polish, and Slovakian talents. Furthermore, ensuring the knowledge sharing within the V4, in the framework of the event, educational roundtable discussions are held with the participation of Hungarian and regional professionals.
In the summer of 2021, Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the V4 countries from Poland. During its events, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency aims to put this presidency in the foreground on fashion’s and design’s sides as well. As part of the 360 Design Budapest exhibition held between the 4th and 10th of October, in cooperation with various Hungarian and V4 design organisations, the goal is to realise a programme that can represent the Central-European design industry’s cultural richness in different dimensions.
In the event’s framework, the HFDA Academy: design DIALOG’s educational roundtable discussions consisting of more parts will be held to represent Hungarian and V4 professionals and their views on design. Through the discussions, those interested in the design industry can gain information in up-to-date, not yet discussed topics or with an unconventional approach. Among the topics, you can find Design Material Library – the tangible innovation, Then and now – product design from a generational perspective, and design DIALOG: Visegrad 4 the future of design introducing Czech, Polish, Hungarian, and Slovakian design industry experts. On the regional roundtable discussion, renowned representatives of the V4 design institutions will talk about how they see design’s future in the region, ensuring V4 knowledge sharing. Besides, at this year’s exhibition, you can rewatch the V4 roundtable discussion held at the 2020 360 Design Budapest. The event’s cooperative partner, Art Market, will also organise a regional panel discussion in the framework of the international art conference in Bálna Budapest, in which Zsófia Bata-Jakab, CEO of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, also participates.
At the 360 Design Budapest exhibition, product designers are still in the centre, among whom designers from the region’s countries also get an accentuated role. Besides the 28 Hungarian creators, the audience can get to know 10 regional designers: Czech –Master&Master, VRTISKA&ZAK –, Polish – Zofia Strumiłło-Sukiennik, Maja Gaszyniec, Nikodem Szpunar, Studio Rygalik, Kabo & Pydo, and Radosław Nowakowski, Patryk Góźdź, NEED STUDIO – and Slovakian – Variedo, Tomas Kral – talents will debut; thus the V4 countries fill the exhibition’s online and offline spaces together with their innovative, sustainable, and unique novelties.
Cooperation with the Art Market, the Polish LuCreate, and the Czech Czechdesign organisations enables the regional exhibitors’ coordinated appearance. At the event, there will be English guided tours as well, favouring international guests, as they will also have the opportunity to learn more about the exhibitors through their artwork and personal stories.
