The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s 360 Design Budapest event opened its virtual and physical doors to the public in October 2020. Thanks to the exhibitions “phygital” form, contemporary Hungarian and regional design brands were able to be viewed in both online and offline form. Furthermore, the exhibition was awarded bronze prizes in two categories – Event and Happening Design and Interior Space and Exhibition Design – by the world’s most renowned international design competition, A’ Design Award & Competition. As one of the most prestigious awards in the industry, this will allow for an even wider international audience to discover the creative potential of the region.
The A’ Design Award competition encourages designers, companies and brands worldwide to create and deliver their events with a sustainable approach, high added value, outstanding aesthetics and exceptional efficiency throughout. Those products, projects and services that excel not only in design and creativity, but also in their technological execution, are the ones that receive the symbol of design excellence. The entries were judged by a panel of distinguished international creative professionals and journalists, who awarded prizes within five levels, from platinum to gold and steel, the majority, in different areas of design.
For the 2020-2021 applications, the A’ Design Award & Competition received entries from 108 countries. 360 Design Budapest received two awards in the categories Event and Happening Design and Interior Space and Exhibition Design. In addition to the trophy, certificate and yearbook, the winners’ works will also be featured in the exclusive Italian exhibition “Best Designs of the Year”. The winners will also receive the “A’ Design Prize” package, which will be supported by intensive marketing communications and media coverage to ensure that the selected projects and the designers involved will receive as much widespread public coverage as possible. For the organisers of 360 Design Budapest, and the participating design brands, winning the award is a significant professional recognition, supporting the fact that their creativity is recognised by the international industry’s elite. It also has a positive impact on our country’s image and will be able to support Hungary in becoming a regional hub for the design industry. 360 Design Budapest, founded by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, aims to showcase Hungarian and regional design products, highlighting the fact that we can easily fill our living spaces and our everyday lives with 100% Hungarian design products. Debuting during Budapest Design Week, the event showcased the design products of 20 Hungarian and 4 international designers in 2020, in a live, virtual space, illustrating the cultural richness of Central Europe’s design industry through different dimensions. The three-day event was a great success despite the virus situation, attracting 600 on-site visitors and nearly 20,000 visitors online, including journalists and influencers, and up to 1,000 people participated in the guided tours in person and online.
The exhibition’s digital platform is still viewable by national and international audiences.
