Guided tour of the Borz Kováts collection with Dr. Judit Horváth, museologist

See the design works of one of Hungary’s most significant designers, Sándor Borz Kováts, through the perspective of the exhibition’s exceptional curator, Dr. Judit Horváth, museologist and Head of the Contemporary Design Department at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest.

Sándor Borz Kováts (1940–1973) lived only 33 years, yet became a defining designer of his era. He was among the first in Hungary to embrace system‑level design. He developed and realized objects suitable for standardized production—at a time when neither industrial infrastructure, resources, nor market conditions were available in Hungary. His work included building the first catamaran on Lake Balaton, designing a music school and a university campus, creating boutiques in rural Hungary during the 1960s, as well as designing tubular and fiberglass furniture, modular lamp collections, and even falconer’s bells.

Immerse yourself in the world of Sándor Borz Kováts at the 360DBP exhibition, where, thanks to the collaboration of MDDÜ and the Museum of Applied Arts, his work is being presented in Hungary for the first time.

Attendance at the program is free, but it requires registration HERE.
