Ditta Sarfenstein

Ditta Sarfenstein graduated in 2025 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with a degree in Sculpture, and also pursued further art studies in Munich, Groningen, and Antwerp. Using sculptural tools, she explored ways of representing the dichotomy between the virtual and the real, while also engaging with the fusion of traditional craft techniques and modern technologies. The culmination of these two areas is her work INVENTORY, presented at this year’s 360 Design Budapest exhibition, created by hand-drawing in space with a 3D pen.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECTS

INVENTORY (2025)

The INVENTORY installation is composed of spatial replicas of personal objects. Their forms remain recognizable, but their material, weight, and color are transformed in the new medium, appearing within a new system of optical relations. The work treats the objects as a conceptual inventory, visually mapping the intertwining of personal past, memory, and material culture, while the list displayed on the archive wall suggests the histories behind these objects.
