VALODI is a brand of Aron Kovacs. VALODI is a multidisciplinary workshop, with a mission of sustainable functional art and spatial design. VALODI’s work is driven by the transformation and rebirth of materials, forms, and structures. VALODI objects emerge from an abstract understanding of form and space. The VALODI brand places great emphasis on contrasts and thus on the relationship between the functional and the irrational.

About the object

Relight series

Áron Kovács discovered PVC while making a birdhouse in the spring and he was intrigued by its ease of machining and availability in large quantities. Unlike glass or metal, PVC is easy to melt and bend, which is the most exciting characteristic for him, so he started experimenting with the material. Surface treatment was not difficult either. For the lamp wiring, he chose a robust textile cable, offering both cord-switch and dimmable versions. Even the dimmer switch knobs were made from concrete. The lamp bodies were crafted in various finishes: raw (sandblasted), painted in vibrant colors, or with a look reminiscent of concrete or stone.
