Faék Factory
Faék Factory was founded in 2020 as a family business in Zebegény. Their handmade products use natural materials like wood, wool, and beeswax. The workshop creates not only objects but also stories and experiences. Their unique, durable, and functional pieces reflect a slow design ethos. Committed to sustainability, they offer nature-respecting items that serve for years while supporting a conscious, eco-friendly lifestyle.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Adrienn Tillinger graduated in 2017 from MOME with a Master’s degree in Design, specializing in furniture, with a rector’s award. Her thesis explored memory linked to objects through functional furniture, guided by literature. She later co-founded Hidegszoba Studio and then Faék Factory, focusing on children’s furniture and toys. Her work is defined by narrative design and a contemporary use of natural, traditional materials.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECTS
Vase (2017)
The fourth piece of the collection strives to visually strengthen the roots of the story. The semi-freely blown glass vase accepts a rooted ‘Tree of heaven’. The ‘Tree of heaven‘, which is also a motif appearing at Mándy, symbolizes the rootlessness of urban existence, the humiliation of the man-made environment, and the unconscious psychic operation. The corner-shaped, flat-bottomed, three-sided planks floor-vase, like the ‘Tree of heaven‘ growing on the courtyards, grow from an impossible place.
Icon-shelf table (2017)
The shelf simultaneously presents both the profane and the sacred sides, deliberately balancing on the boundary between the two worlds. The character of the piece lies in its dual function: it can serve as a sculptural shelf or a simple dining surface. The functional shift—when we enter into physical contact with the object—enhances the narrative.
