ABODI’s icon is the TWIN UNISUS, a mystical and powerful creature, a winged unicorn. The Unisus is a unicorn with wings, a hybrid mythologcal animal. The unicorn symbolises something that is highly desirable but difficult to see, find and obtain, an extremely wild creature, beyond mere mythical imagination, being able to communicate with transcendental powers.The Pegasus is a mythical winged divine horse related to Greek Gods. ABODI’s Twin Unisus is the offspring of a Unicorn and a Pegasus, a super magical creature merging the ultimte beauty and power.

After years of learning clay art and lomg preparation in 2023 ABODI’s artistic concept expanded to ceramic objects embodying the mythical Gods and creatures born in clay and unfolded in fire and colored with custom developed glazes. This new art project will give insight into a deeper insight to the fine art concept behind ABODI.
About the designer
Born in Transylvania and raised in Budapest, part of an artist family, Dora Abodi showed early signs of interest in fashion and began to draw sketches in her parent’s and grandfather’s studio at a young age. She graduated from French Mod’ International Art and Fashion Academy and later obtained a Masters in Fashion Design at Domus Academy Milan in 2013. She is studying clay art since 2021, finding her inspirations from her family and Transylvanianl heritage, movies, travelling, popculture, literature.

However, in the last hundred years scholars of the history of Hungarian culture have tried eagerly to recover a significant amount of Hungarian mythology. The most important sources are: folklore, medieval chronicles, Secondary sources such as accounts about Hungarians by other authors, archaeological research. Amongst the modern religions, Hungarian mythology is closest to the cosmology of Uralic peoples. In Hungarian myth, the world is divided into three spheres: the first is the Upper World, the home of the gods; the second is the Middle World or world we know, and finally the underworld. In the centre of the world stands a tall tree: the World Tree/Tree of Life.
