This year, Central Europe’s leading design exhibition, 360 Design Budapest, welcomes visitors for an unprecedented 11 days. Showcasing the very best of Hungarian and regional object culture, the exhibition offers far more than just displays. It creates an inspiring environment, a meeting point where designers, manufacturers and the public can connect. The diverse events, besides serving this goal, also provide colourful and interactive experiences for visitors. Both the exhibition and the side events are free of charge, but registration is required, so be sure to sign up on time!
The 360 Design Budapest exhibition awaits design enthusiasts in the historic heart of the country and the capital, the Buda Castle District. The baroque palace at 1 Táncsics Mihály Street will host not only the exhibition but also a variety of cultural, professional and creative events.
Exclusive guided tours
This year’s exhibition motto is “Design Aligns – Creating Together, Living Connected”, focusing on the connective power of design, presenting how objects engage in dialogue across ages and styles. These subtle connections might not always be visible at first glance, but leading figures in the domestic design scene help uncover them. Among them are Barna Erdész, gallerist and curator of the exhibition; Dr Judit Horváth, museologist and Head of the Contemporary Design Collection at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest; Blanka Bán, art historian and cultural manager; Judit Osvárt, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration; Mary Karyda, lead researcher at MOME Ecology & Action Lab; and Márton Pintér, creative director and university lecturer. Through their exclusive guided tours, visitors can not only explore the details of concepts, materials, and technology but also immerse themselves in the creative worlds of the designers.
The exhibition is not only exciting from a professional perspective: representatives of other art forms – writers, actors, musicians, and content creators – offer subjective, associative, and entertaining tours for the public. For instance, Bence Csalár, fashion expert; György Dragomán, writer; Angéla Eke, actress; Dr Levente András Farkas, lawyer and content creator; Norbert Oláh, visual artist; Simon Szabó, actor and director; Dorina Toppler, content creator; and Botond Wertán, photographer, will hold guided tours, offering unforgettable experiences for everyone.
Workshops
Visitors will not just observe – they can actively take part in the creative process. In Szonja Rózsa’s three-hour analogue paper collage workshop, participants can create their own artworks. At the Stitchcraft event, Zsófi Szász X OBJEKT Upcycle Bag Workshop allows attendees to assemble a unique accessory. Meanwhile, the JACQUES Works Ceramic Mural Workshop offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of a nine-piece glazed ceramic mural, while also introducing participants to traditional glazing techniques.
Lectures, Meet-ups
Exciting experiences also await visitors on the exhibition “stage.” For example, the Valami Swing band organised by iF Jazz Club will perform their unique Hot Jazz & Cool Swing, a style that enriches the traditions of gypsy jazz and jazz manouche with fresh colours. French-born, Budapest-based dancer and choreographer Julien Klopfenstein will present his Electric Counterpoint performance, created especially for Budapest Design Week. Emerging modern blues and soul talent Adam Kustan will perform a solo acoustic set, featuring songs from his album Pretty Black Suit, released at the beginning of 2025. On the final evening of the exhibition, 18 October, Bálint Ikladi will share his creativity and energy with the audience through a Lowkey House DJ set. In addition, the Meet the Designer & Manufacturer event enables visitors to meet the designers and manufacturers in person, providing direct insight into their creative work.
Pre-registration is recommended, but it is also possible to register on-site during the exhibition from 9–19 October, depending on available spaces. Please note that a maximum of 250 visitors can be in the exhibition space at any one time. You can register HERE.
