Borisz Papp

Borisz Papp began working with porcelain already during high school, and over the years, he started experimenting with a growing variety of materials and techniques. What fascinates him most about design is the diversity of manufacturing technologies – the layers of knowledge that lie behind even the simplest everyday object. In 2024, he graduated as an industrial designer from the Design Campus in Győr. Beyond formal experimentation, his work mainly focuses on addressing design-related problems.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECT

Tülkös (2025)

Tülkös is a pair of porcelain Hungarian Grey Cattle, complemented by a custom-made oak base. The animal’s distinctive features – including its horns – appear only subtly and suggestively on the object. Borisz Papp aimed to create a recognizable form that stands out from the crowd through its purity and simplicity. The salt and pepper shakers form a harmonious unit, but the goal is to expand the collection with other indigenous Hungarian animals, creating a characterful product family.
