Metal Plus Design Kft.
Metal Plus Design Ltd., under its MPD.Interior_Store product line, aims to create small-series designer furniture that highlights the light and airy appearance of metal. The primary material used is flat sheet metal, which is often complemented by other materials or three-dimensional elements in each piece. The product line features clean, minimalist designs that still evoke an extreme visual impact through their unique characteristics and thoughtful design. A key element of the products is the invisible joining technique, ensuring that no fasteners are visible.
ABOUT THE DESIGNERS
Metal Plus Design Ltd. was founded by a husband-and-wife duo, Zsófia Bagoly and Péter Bagoly, who share a passion for working with metal. Using their expertise, they reinterpret everyday objects so that they are composed solely of metal sheets. At the same time, they often blend familiar lines, curves, and design elements with other shapes and materials. Their inspiration comes from architecture, structural metalwork, and even the world of film.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECTS
PETER (2025)
A unique shelving unit made entirely of thin metal sheets – light, yet full of character. Its refined, metallic surface subtly reflects and filters light, adding a playful shimmer to the space while resting elegantly against the wall. More than just a bookshelf, it embodies a contemporary lifestyle: clean lines, memories of travels, and the soul of the modern home.
SOPHIE (2024)
SOPHIE is a shelf unit with an airy yet confident character, made from thin sheet metal. Its form is subtle, yet unmistakably present. The surface interacts playfully with light—sometimes reflecting, sometimes allowing it to pass through. Its distinctive feature is the modular mirror, which can be placed on either the right or left side, serving as both a functional and aesthetic addition.
PETERK (2025)
PETERK is a low metal shelf that can be placed either directly against a wall or in the center of a room. With its modern, playful yet striking aesthetic, it blends seamlessly into its surroundings.
