Birgit Köblitz

Glass defines the designer’s everyday life, shapes her vision, and urges her to change. She is drawn to fragility, to transitions and fleeting moments. Inspired by the material’s transparency and tension, she combines techniques and searches for new forms. Her work often reflects a dialogue between tradition and the present, frequently tied to architecture. For her, glass is a path to essence, simplicity, and permanence.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECTS

The sound of water (2023)

An ode to water, which gives us life and confidence, but there is also the climate change, a really outstanding theme for me, but for all of us. This is the story. In a bright glossy yellow goblet that is slightly tilted – „water”. The spiked bow protects that for us so significant water, ready to defend against enemies. On its top there is a crown, which underlines the importance of every drop of pure water.
