8XL is a brutalist archive. It was created for those who aren’t looking for accessories, but foundations. Everyday objects that don’t decorate — they define. The essence of brutalism is present in the everyday: notebooks, pens, prints, furniture — objects that become part of the spatial structure. No unnecessary gestures, only solid materials and pure presence. 8XL doesn’t just offer products, but a chance to turn the philosophy of brutalism into physical presence. Each of the objects embodies the raw power and clarity at the core of brutalist architecture: nothing decorative, everything essential.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECT

8XL Block (2025)

Block is a reinterpretation of Le Corbusier’s LC14 through changes in scale and material. The collection consists of half-cube-shaped elements made from solid pine and bent steel, which can function as stools, steps, or tables. The material use is symbolic: the solid wood represents mass, the filling of space; the shell-like steel frames it. The charred surfaces go beyond aesthetics — the act of burning is a ritual, referencing Alessandro Mendini’s 1974 performance and symbolizing a release of the original inspiration. Each piece is handcrafted in Békéscsaba, available in four surface variations.
