Koroknay Anna Fanni
Anna Fanni Koroknay, the creator of the carpets, completed her studies at the Budapest University of Economics majoring in Commerce and Marketing, and then gained professional experience in financial and marketing fields at multinational companies. In addition to her work, she has always been interested in art, so she attended various workshops to find which direction would be the most obvious for her. Fanni discovered the beauty of carpet making during a museum exhibition, which opened her eyes to a sector that was different from the mass-produced carpets found in so many homes. While searching on the Internet, she found the tufted technique, for which he obtained the raw materials from abroad, since the procedure is not yet widespread in our country. Fanni learned the basics from videos, then discovered individual techniques during the making and continued the production of her carpets. KAF’s style is characterized by vivid, striking colors and a mixture of abstract/non-figurative forms. KAF’s inspiration always comes from the given moment, although she plans her compositions in advance, but her final version takes shape while making the carpet. For the rugs, the creator often takes sources from nature that she encounters while running/hiking, such as the shape of a pothole on the road or even the special shape of a puddle. Although she started working independently with the tufted technique in the spring of 2023, she is constantly looking for opportunities to gain more professional experience. This can mostly be done by foreign artists, as few people in our country are still dealing with the exciting mysteries of carpet making.
