Deák Design
The “Oxides and Precious Metals” collection is a perfect example of the intersection between recycling and aesthetic values. This unique series was created by Zuzsanna Deák during her Re-built Glass experiments, which won an EDIDA award for a new silicate material. The collection is based on the reinterpretation and artistic transformation of contaminated architectural glass waste. She has established a distinctive artistic line that combines the unique properties of oxides and precious metals—such as gold, silver, and copper—with the special textures of glass. Through her research on architectural glass waste, Zuzsanna Deák discovered that large quantities of used window glass accumulate among the population. She cuts, cleans, and transforms these with her unique technology, bringing them to new life.
