Lehel Juhos:
Lehel Juhos was admitted to the Product Designer course at the Institute of Applied Arts of the University of Sopron in 2002, where he studied under Tibor Szentpéteri and Tibor Pál Tóth. He was awarded the MAOE prize for his public seat design “Aula” in 2008. He gained substantial professional experience in the Forma Symposion international brazier art workshop led by his father in Szekszárd and at the Medence Csoport in Budapest. He received the László Moholy-Nagy Design Grant in 2009 with his “Homework” furniture line programme. In 2012, he opened his own studio called Lehel Juhos Design and worked in furniture design, product development, and industrial design. He gained international recognition with his furniture line “Y-system”. He won Loft Interior’s tender for enlargeable tables with his collection “Masina” in 2013. As the product designer of the Socowoo brand, he has been working on developing his products and realising unique projects from solid surface materials with János Néző since 2016. He frequently appears at domestic design exhibitions with his furniture; he also presented his outdoor furniture line “Idom” in London and Paris. In 2019, he got the grant of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary for his carbon fibre rocking chair programme “Kitin”. He is a designer with a good knowledge of materials and manufacturing technology, excellent technical understanding and 3D CAD skills.
Flaar Kft:
Flaar Kft. was founded to design and produce reinforced plastic (composite) products and their master forms as well as their tools in 2006. Its main activity is engineering and technical consultancy, but today manufacturing is also an essential activity in the company’s life. They have two main branches: industrial work and shipbuilding. The emphasis is on high-tech (e.g. carbon fibre) products in both departments. Flaar is not only uniquely innovative in Hungary but is among the most innovative ship designer and builder companies worldwide.
